We call it the Historic North Route, dedicating time to explore the captivating towns of Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava in the Orotava Valley.
These towns became popular with European travelers in the early 19th century, drawn by art, science, and wellness. In La Orotava, we’ll wander the picturesque old town and visit a grand church with beautiful artwork.
We’ll also see the Casa de los Balcones, a residence owned by descendants of 15th-century conquerors, now showcasing various crafts. Watch for uneven terrain.
Nearby, scientists investigate unique rock formations, while British artists like Marianne North have left their mark. The area was the first home to English settlers, with their legacy visible in landmarks like All Saints’ Church and the charming architecture of Sito Litre.
Puerto Rico radiates old-world charm and vibrant fishing ports. Enjoy local cuisine and wine if you wish.
