Exclusive Cadiz Shore Excursion and Day Trips to Ronda and the Charming White Village of Arcos de la Frontera.

On this full-day private excursion from Cadiz to Ronda, we'll venture inland, making a stop at the enchanting white Andalusian village of Arcos de la Frontera. This village is renowned for its maze of winding paths and cobbled streets that ascend to the magnificent sandstone castle, the Castillo de los Arcos.

Next, we'll continue our journey to the charming town of Ronda, celebrated for its breathtaking river gorge, known as El Tajo, which can be admired from the stunning 18th-century bridge, Puente Nuevo (New Bridge).

Following that, we'll explore the highlights of this beautiful town, one of the oldest in Spain with roots dating back to prehistoric times. A short walking tour will take us through the historical center, beginning at the town square, Plaza de España, along with its exquisite church. Our tour will conclude at the iconic Plaza de Toros Maestranza, one of the oldest bullrings in the country. Here, you'll have free time to discover Ronda further, perhaps visiting the bullring (not included) or enjoying lunch at a local restaurant (not included) before we head back to Cadiz.

Information about Ronda

The hour-long journey from Cadiz takes us through captivating countryside and majestic mountains, leading us to the exceptional village of Arcos de la Frontera. Designated as a national historical and artistic site in 1962, it is celebrated for its stunning architecture and remarkable setting. This historic town features a labyrinth of paths and alleys that wind up to the magnificent sandstone castle, Castillo de Los Arcos. As one might anticipate from such an elevated position, breathtaking views stretch over the town and the undulating landscape below.

Continuing our adventure, we travel onward to Ronda, a journey of approximately 1.15 hours. Known as one of Spain’s oldest towns, with roots tracing back to the Neolithic era, Ronda offers glimpses of its ancient past. The town retains much of its allure despite being a popular destination for thousands of tourists each year, especially in its historic quarter. Ronda is renowned for its spectacular views over the dramatic gorge, El Tajo. Visitors flock to the 18th-century Puente Nuevo, or "New Bridge," which spans a 100-meter drop. The promenade circling the gorge provides stunning vistas of the Serranía de Ronda mountains.

Ronda's intriguing history features influences from both the Romans and Moors. It was among the last Moorish strongholds to surrender to the Spanish Conquistadors. The town is also renowned for its impressive historical sites, drawing visitors from across the globe. One of the most significant landmarks in Ronda is the Plaza de Toros, or Bullring, regarded as the oldest bullfighting ring in all of Spain. This venue is where the art of bullfighting originated, and although it now serves as a museum, it still hosts events during Ronda’s festive celebrations.
