Our journey continues to the distinctive white Andalusian village of Frigiliana, nestled in the mountains behind the coast, where you can meander through its delightful streets and alleys, culminating in a visit to the top terrace for breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline and mountains.

Nerja lies along the seashore, approximately 50 kilometers from Motril, marking the easternmost point of Málaga's Costa del Sol. Once a tranquil fishing village, it has now grown to house more than 22,000 residents.
The centerpiece of Nerja is its stunning Balcón de Europa, or "Balcony of Europe," a breathtaking promenade that stretches along the edge of a steep cliff, formerly the site of a magnificent Moorish castle. It offers sweeping panoramic views of the Mediterranean, punctuated by charming coves and beaches below, all set against a dramatic backdrop of hazy blue mountains.
However, the true jewel of Nerja is its captivating caves, situated a mere three kilometers from the town center. These caves boast archaeological wonders, including ancient paintings that are over 20,000 years old and various prehistoric relics. One of the vast natural chambers has been adapted into a concert hall, hosting numerous performances throughout the summer months.
Just seven kilometers north of Nerja lies the quintessential pueblo blanco of Frigiliana, perched on a mountain ridge with breathtaking views of the sea. Recognized as the 'prettiest village in Andalucía' by the Spanish tourism authority, Frigiliana also holds significant historical value. El Fuerte, the hill rising above the village, was the site of the final, brutal defeat of the Moors in La Axarquía during their rebellion in 1569. The village features a maze of narrow cobblestone streets flanked by whitewashed houses adorned with wrought-iron balconies overflowing with vibrant red geraniums. Quaint plazas offer shaded seating, while local bars are favored by visitors.
