After the caves, we’ll head to the Balcón de Europa in Nerja town, where you can stroll along charming beach coves and admire lovely fishing cottages. Enjoy free time in the vibrant commercial area and savor delicious local cuisine (lunch not included).
Next, we’ll visit the unique white Moorish village of Frigiliana, set in the mountains. As we wander through its enchanting streets, you’ll appreciate the traditional architecture and colorful flowers, concluding at the top terrace for breathtaking views of the coastline and mountains.

Nerja is located along the coast approximately 50 kilometers from Málaga, making it just an hour's drive away, and it marks the easternmost point of Málaga's Costa del Sol. Once a tranquil fishing village, this town now boasts a population exceeding 22,000 residents.
At the heart of Nerja lies the breathtaking Balcón de Europa, known as the "Balcony of Europe." This stunning promenade extends along the edge of a steep cliff, which was once home to a grand Moorish castle, offering sweeping panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the secluded coves and beaches below, all set against a stunning backdrop of hazy blue mountains.
However, the most remarkable attraction in Nerja is undoubtedly its captivating caves, situated just three kilometers from the town center. These caves house archaeological wonders, including paintings that date back over 20,000 years and other prehistoric artifacts. One of the vast natural caverns has been converted into a concert venue, hosting many performances during the summer months.
Just seven kilometers north of Nerja lies the picturesque pueblo blanco of Frigiliana, perched high on a mountain ridge and offering breathtaking panoramic views of the sea. Recognized as the 'prettiest village in Andalucía' by the Spanish tourism authority, Frigiliana also holds historical significance. El Fuerte, the hill that rises above the village, witnessed the final decisive defeat of the Moors of La Axarquía during their rebellion in 1569. The village features a labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets lined with whitewashed houses adorned with wrought-iron balconies overflowing with vibrant red geraniums. Cozy plazas offer shaded seating, and the local bars are a favorite among visitors.
