Madiera full day private day trip

An aerial view of Madiera by the sea

Private Madiera Shore Excursions and Day tours:

The ideal choice for those with limited time in Madeira who wish to experience as much as possible in a single day.

We will visit the fishing village of Camara de Lobos, famously depicted by Sir Winston Churchill. The towering sea cliff of Cabo Girao and the glass-bottomed Sky Walk that extends above it. Ribeira Brava, known for its coffee shops, souvenirs, and church. Ponta do Sol, recognized as the sunniest location on the island. Fanal, where the ancient trees are renowned for the atmospheric fog and mist that occasionally envelop them, yet on a sunny day, they are equally photogenic. The rugged coastline of Ribeira da Janela. Porto Moniz, celebrated for its natural and man-made seawater swimming pools. Seixal, a charming small beach village. Boa Ventura, offering dramatic sea views from this tranquil village. Santana, most noted for its traditional A-framed houses. Faial and Guindaste viewpoint featuring glass walkways over the sea. Ponta de Sao Lourenco, the easternmost point of the island. Machico, the original capital of Madeira prior to Funchal's elevation to that status in 1454. Lastly, the Cristo Rei (King Christ statue) at Garajau before returning to Funchal.

It promises to be a busy day, but you will undoubtedly witness the most stunning highlights from across the island. There will be opportunities to relax and enjoy coffee and lunch, of course. It would be my pleasure to guide you on this exceptional Mega Tour!

Information about Madiera

Madeira's history intertwines ancient myths with contemporary exploration. The island was initially referenced in 1419 by Pliny and Plutarch, who called it the "Purple Islands" or "Isles of the Blessed." Evidence of Viking activity is suggested by the discovery of mouse bones on the island, implying they may have arrived prior to the Portuguese. The Portuguese officially discovered Madeira in 1419, leading to its colonization that began in 1420, with settlers from mainland Portugal establishing their presence by 1425. The name of the island, "Ilha da Madeira," was first documented in 1433. Madeira gained autonomy in 1976 and has since functioned as an autonomous region of Portugal.
