Information about Ibiza

Ibiza is among the most renowned of the Balearic Islands, originally inhabited by Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, and eventually the Spanish. The island’s isolation and limited trade throughout much of its history resulted in a population of impoverished farmers, artisans, and fishermen.

This scenario shifted dramatically when Ibiza began to attract large-scale global tourism. The local cuisine, customs, and culture showcased a deep connection to both the sea and the land, accompanied by a significant Catholic influence.

The arrival of bohemians in the 1930s and 1960s introduced a vibrant artistic flair to the island.
